MARKET OPPORTUNITIES
Namibia has well-established market sectors in Mining, Fisheries and Tourism. In addition to these sectors, is the recent discovery of vast reserves of Hydrocarbons - Oil & Gas - that will offer outstanding business opportunities.
There are still significant opportunities to enter Namibia's abundant mining sector, with great incentives for companies mining critical minerals.
The nascent development of Renewable Energy: Green Hydrogen, together with abundant Solar and Wind capacity, will help develop Namibia into a continental hub for renewable energy supplies. HYDROCARBONS - OIL and GAS
Huge Reserves Found
Over the past few years and up to November 2024, huge reserves of light oil and natural gas have been found off the coast of Namibia.
Recent 2D seismic studies done on land in Owambo basin, Namibia.
It is estimated that there are +15 billion barrels of oil and c. 4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves. These figures are being pushed ever higher by regular announcements in the press.
Bloomberg reported (18 July 2024) that Namibia's O&G figures are similar to that of Guyana in Latin America: sufficient to make Namibia a Global Super Giant! It was stated that Namibia's Orange Basin alone could produce c. 1.2 million barrels of oil a day!
In April 2024, Galp announced that Mopane Oil has estimates of +10 Bboe. (Offshore Magazine 22 April 2024)
Petrobras announced that it had made a non- binding offer for Galp's Mopane Oil Field in PEL 83. (Namcor has a 10% stake in PEL 83.) (Source Reuters: August 2024.)
We confidently expect more acquisition activity in the near future.

Namibia will develop, in the foreseeable future, into a continental hub for the export of both Hydrocarbons and Green Hydrogen.
Substantial development will be required in infrastructure, human resources, training and a service sector that will support, what will prove to be, a transformative change in the character in the deep-sea port of Walvis Bay, Lüderitz, and elsewhere. EU highly favourable finance will be available for viable projects that met certain criteria. There is already considerable interest by companies wanting to access land and office space in these two towns: you will need to act soon!
PPP Consultants has access to funding for up to 100% of Capex for commercially viable projects (T&Cs apply)

GREEN HYROGEN
Currently being developed
A preliminary analysis by the World Bank of the Green Hydrogen market and the levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH), shows that Namibia could produce highly competitive Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia, which can be used as a renewable form of energy. Namibia's abundant capacity of solar and wind, enables the end product to be delivered as a renewable energy source. Namibia currently has a number of projects in development. It is estimated that there will be substantial amounts of Green Ammonia for export in the future. Namibia expects to export some 3.5 million tonnes by 2030, with volumes significantly increasing in later years.
A recent Bloomberg article (June 2024) highlighted the recent developments in Namibia and the potential of Namibia as a Green Hydrogen hub. (Article available in Useful Information - Green Hydrogen.
It has been predicted that the Namibian cost of Hydrogen/Kg could be c. Euro 1.0/kg in the near future, once economies of scale are introduced.

MINING
Well established market
Mining is a well stablished industry in Namibia, and currently contributes c. 28% of GDP. Extensive exploration in Namibia for base metals, diamonds, gold, natural gas, lithium and uranium has been attributed, in part, to the rise in world commodity prices. Under the Mining Act, the natural resources of Namibia belong to the State.
According to a report by ResearchAndMarkets.com, highlights that exploration expenditure increased on the back of growing interest in Namibia’s critical minerals, due to the global energy transition, including lithium and uranium, where a supply deficit is forecast. In June 2023, the government introduced a ban on exports of unprocessed critical minerals to ensure value is added before these are exported. (This should be seen as an opportunity for new entrants to the market, with new ideas in cost effectively processing minerals.) Changes to the VAT Act will reduce the cost of exploration.
There are still opportunities in Namibia, not only for large-scale mining, but also for small-scale mining. EU finance will be available on mining for critical minerals for the Green Energy projects: developments must demonstrate that they are commercially viable: we will help you do this.

RENEWABLES: SOLAR & WIND IN NAMIBIA
Early implementation
Namibia has significant potential for both solar and wind energy projects. According to the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy, the country has proven solar resources and is particularly suited for solar energy projects such as concentrated solar power (CSP). The feasibility of these plans is underscored by the abundant availability of sunlight throughout the year and proximity to billions of cubic meters of seawater and vast marine resources in the Atlantic Ocean. Namibia has the potential to capture around 10 hours of strong sunlight per day for 300 days per year. The country has some of the highest solar irradiance potential of any country in Africa, which is sufficient to provide power for its people and its neighbours.
There is a real opportunity for the further development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Namibia.
These energy sources are an integral part of the renewable process of creating Green Hydrogen and its derivatives.
To produce green hydrogen competitively a country would need world-class transmission infrastructure, international port facilities, world-class wind and solar resources, access to sustainable sources of clean water (without displacing existing consumers), lots of land and a conducive legislative environment: Namibia has most of these, but further development and investment opportunities exists.
